Women are a valuable part of society, the
play a very vital role in human progress. For a very long time, women were
considered inferior to men. However, the role of a woman in society has
significantly changed during recent decades. But what we ‘Deepalaya’ feel that
Men and women are incomparable; women are far superior to men and are capable
of sharing all the responsibilities of life.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day,
almost all projects of Deepalaya celebrated this day with full enthusiasm.
Learning Centre, Sanjay Colony
Women’s day was celebrated at DLCSC with lots of enthusiasm and zest. The celebration was graced by the presence of Ms Minimol Joyce, her husband Rev. Joyce Mon, Joel and Johan their two sons’ accompanied by Mr Chackochan, one of our founder member and President, Mr A.J. Philip Sir, Secretary and Chief Executive of Deepalaya and Mrs Betty Philip.
The program started with the lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana which was presented through a group dance. A skit on female feticide was staged, where students wonderfully expressed the situation and aftermath of this practice. Students performed a group dance on the free spirit of women. The entire program was wonderful but the show stopper was the Fashion show put by students of Fashion Designing and Beauty Culture courses. These girls and ladies took admission just one month back and initially they were very hesitant to perform in front of an audience. But after receiving motivation classes from our teachers they performed and stole everyone’s heart.
At the end of the day, Ms Minimol graced the occasion with a soulful song which added stars in the celebration.

theme “#EachforEqual”, which depicts the aim of Individuality, we’re all
responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can
actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions,
improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.
Deepalaya strongly believes that when women and girls have access to education, health care and nutrition, are involved in decision-making processes, their families and communities are more productive and stable. Through the possible efforts, we are working directly with 17,507 rural women to call for change in society and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by women who have played an extraordinary role in their ordinary lives.
Sincere Thanks to our Partners Honda and

united and work together in the ongoing struggle for the rights of women and
girls nationwide so that they may live full, healthy, and productive lives.
