On 23rd October a team from Shinnyo En Japan visited the Center. The group has Dinesh Jaggi (Interpreter), Mr. Junichi Kitamura (Representative of Shinnyo-en team), Mr. Yoji Koyama (member of Shinnyo-en team), Mr. Hirohide Kijima (new member of Shinnyo-en team), Mr. Yuji Yamamoto (new member of Shinnyo-en team) and Mr. Naoya Sugazawa (member of Shinnyo-en team). Shinnyo En Japan has been supporting and giving scholarships, to two students of Deepalaya every year for nursing. The scholarship program started way back in 2007. Over these years, 16 girls have either become nurses or are studying to fulfill their dream of becoming a nurse and serve the community. This year the scholarship program was extended for supporting the education of three girls, who wanted to do dialysis technician course through the Government of India skill development program.

They all were happy to interact with the 9 girls who came to meet and speak to the team members who have helped them in shaping their future. They spoke about their achievements, dreams and aspirations. They also shared their problems about the college exam being delayed since -India Medical Council took over the administrative work of the medical and nursing colleges of India. There was also a delay in getting the Diploma after completing the course. The older nurses were asked to share their learnings and messages to the younger students aspiring to be nurses. Tannu working in Max Saket Hospital told her juniors to study smartly. This appealed to the team

The students were told about the founder of Shinnyo and how through the temple contribution, they are able to help girls and other who are needy throughout the world. The Girls were told to go out into the world and help others who are in need. In this way they can spread the message of love and be of help to humanity.

The girls presented cards to the team and also brought Diwali sweets for the members to show their love and gratitude.

The team was then taken to Tech Mahindra Foundation Smart Academy in Kingsway Camp to meet and see the Institute where the girls had been enrolled to study the dialysis course. The visit went off well and the team was satisfied with the visit.

The words in the visitor’s book read thus, “We are really happy to be here today. All grantees look grateful for our scholarship and being full of hope. Hopefully our Founder’s loving kindness will bless them toward future. And Hopefully Deepalaya will be successful toward future. Thank you.”
