Yoga for Health- Yoga at Home

“Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” ― Buddha

During COVID-19 Lockdown, Deepalaya with the help of our supporters and donors continued to teach the children (virtually) to manage their emotions through Art & Craft, Music-Making, acting, games and many more activities that are designed to revolve around Social Emotional Learning and Community Development.

Since June 21, the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually across the world, coinciding with the Summer Solstice each year. This year’s Yoga day is helping us in this fight against this pandemic. The pranayamas help us in building immunity and resolving respiratory illnesses.

As we all know that everyone is operating digitally, in the same way, Deepalaya also running its classes online was on the occasion of International Yoga Day our students are learning #yoga, staying at home by taking part in the activities on #yoga asanas suggested by our teachers through our online classes. Despite the current coronavirus pandemic, their mats are all ready to roll out to bend and twist their bodies from the safety of their homes in complex postures.

On this occasion, they were asked about their emotional well-being and well-being in general, what they understand about these days and given some tasks which they performed effectively. An overwhelmingly positive response was received.

They expressed their solidarity towards the theme “Yoga for Health – Yoga at Home”, as they truly understand that Yoga plays a crucial role in promoting health in a holistic manner by improving physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Mental Well-being

They also inspired their community to just take a deep breath, stretch and embrace all the positive energy within us. They added that our good health is equally interlinked with our mental well-being. Especially during this pandemic, when coping with all kinds of stress and anxiety is difficult, practising Yoga from home will help us maintain the right balance.

On this day #InternationalYogaday, we would like to thank everyone for becoming a part of a change-makers in our journey and support our students.

Deepalaya wishes you Happy International Day of Yoga!
