Life beyond school

Compared to public school, which gives a summer break in May/ June, Deepalaya Schools gives a break from formal school lessons to the children. Teachers at Deepalaya School take extra-curricular classes such as music, art, dance, drama and sewing etc during the two months when other public school children enjoy the summer break. Extra classes in regular subjects are held for weak students during these months. Many children show lot of talent in dancing and drawing and the school has won several prizes for it.

Every financial year the students make one excursion to sights in and around Delhi. This year children were taken to Zoo, India gate, St. Thomas Church, Gandhi Smriti and Lodhi Garden during their three days of excursion visit.

Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open mind. - Malcolm Forbes

A visit to Sanjay Colony proves that Deepalaya achieves exactly what the adage above conveys. The children are curious, polite and very friendly. Be it in the classroom or on the playground, the pupils of Sanjay Colony School try to catch the attention of visitors and are always curious about other cultures and countries. The children are equally interested in all subjects, be it sports or arts.
Surrounded by friends and classmates there is no timidity and the kids feel happy to perform a song or a dance. Festival days like Holi are celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and fun. . School isn’t only a place to study for these children but also to forget their problems and enjoy their childhood.
