Deepalaya - Enabling Self-Reliance

Disability Unit provides education to differently abled children to mainstream them in the formal schools. Differently abled community members are also taught vocational courses to enable them to be self-reliant. Special education is an initiative which is meant for differently abled children. A specially trained therapist works with the children to teach them and also improve their health condition. They are provided speech therapy and occupational therapy. Some of these children are physically and mentally challenged are hearing impaired or are suffering from Cerebral Palsy, autism or very poor vision. Many such children have improved a lot through the special therapy sessions. Deepalaya also helps in medical intervention of such children by providing them with aids and appliances assisting them to function normally.
