“Winter has come and you must do something about it” — John Snow
So, the year-end season has begun, ringing the bells for Santa’s arrival with a bundle of joy and a bag full of Christmas gifts. While celebrations with your loved ones are in full swing, why not take out some time to make a difference to the lives of some underprivileged children around you?
It is a harsh truth—many of these children cannot afford the luxury to step out during winters as they do not have enough clothes to protect themselves from the cold. It may be a constant struggle for them to beat the nail-biting chills of the weather in order to embrace the warmth of the festive season. Frosty as their plight may look, you can indeed donate to gift them happiness and comfort.
At Deepalaya, we are now raising funds (in both cash and kind) for a three-week period for our children at Deepalaya Learning Centre, Tiron, Saharanpur. The funds will be utilized to provide cozy sweaters, jackets, socks, gloves, shoes and woollen hats to more than 200 students at the centre, majority of who belong to the economically and socially weaker sections of the society.
Needless to say, your donations in physical form will not only safeguard them from the cold of the winter season, but also make their learning enjoyable, allowing them a sense of inclusion in the year-end festive vibe!
Does this sound like a sensible appeal? So, are you ready to take the challenge to #GiftWarmth and become #SaharanpurKaSanta?
Here is how you can contribute to the cause:
