Children’s day out!!
April 17, 2009: Every year, Deepalaya Schools organize an educational tour. This story tells the tale of the Sanjay Colony Campus students’ visit to Chandigarh.
65 students from grades VI, VII, VIII and IX and few ex-students, along with four parents visited Chandigarh towards the end of March. Accompanied by eight teachers and two other staff from the school, the group left for the beautiful city early in the morning in two colorful buses, garnished with Girls Vs Boys antakshari rounds, food on the roadside dhabas, and a whole lot of fun.
Students at the Rock Garden
Rock Garden was children’s first site-seeing halt at Chandigarh. They were amazed to experience the garden made up of different rocks, broken bangles, and pieces of crockery. Many enjoyed posing variously in front of the artificial waterfall therein, to flaunt their very own Hrithik and Kareena looks.
Posing in front of the waterfall
Sukhna Lake and Pinjore Garden were the other places children were taken to.
On their way back, which was a night travel, children were given refreshments within the bus, followed by the last dhaba halt for dinner at the roadside.
The trip was indeed enjoyable and memorable. As one of the children put it, “It was amazing. I particularly loved the waterfall at the Rock Garden. I had never seen such a beautiful place in my life.”
