Deepalaya School - Gusbethi
Deepalaya School Gusbethi at Deepalaya Gram was established in 1998 with the aim of providing quality education to children of poor farmers of Gusbethi and adjacent villages. The school provides quality education to children from socially, economically and educationally weaker section of the society. The School was built with the support provided by Foundation of Christian Education, Netherlands and Maulana Azad Education Foundation, India.
The school also has a hostel facility for street children and those of working parents. Deepalaya plays an important role in bringing a positive change in the lives of these children by isolating them from the present situation and providing them a healthy environment to sustain and at the same time providing them education to become self reliant in future.
The school is presently running classes from LKG to class IX. The school is a two-storied building with 13 spacious classrooms. The school has a bus that goes to 14 villages to pick and drop the students from these villages. The school has 15 teachers and 5 non teaching staff to look after the needs of the children.
The school has a well-planned curriculum based on the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus. The students are taught subjects like English, Hindi, EVR, Mathematics, Science, Computer and Drawing. A teacher especially for Urdu has also been appointed to meet the demand of the Muslim population. The school also coaches students to appear for class III, V, VIII and X level examinations conducted by Open Basic and National Institute of Open Schooling.
The school has a well equipped computer lab and imparts computer education to students of class 3rd to 8th. To assess the development of each child, the school conducts 4 Unit tests and 2 terminal exams each year.
To make children confident and to enhance their skills, various co-cirricular activities are also conducted like quiz, declamation, singing, dancing, sports and physical education etc. The school has its own band also which participates in various competitions.
- The school had only seven students when it started but now the strength has increased to 472- 239 girls and 233 boys.
- The school got its provisional recognition from the Haryana Board Education Department, Bhiwani.
- The overall pass percentage of the school is 83%.
- The school children participate in various arts competitions outside the school and won prizes.
