Three-D Celebrations

The volume of 3D happiness

Sunday, the October 26, 2008: “So, what do you understand by 3D?” Ask any average VI-grade school-goer, and he’ll instantly come up with an answer that testifies his fair knowledge of science. “3D is 3 dimensional, a term commonly used to visualize volume in physics.”
Fair enough!

Meanwhile, how about catching up with a child who has attended the school even on a Sunday, and has no complaints about it? He has just enjoyed an evening of a lifetime with friends at his very own school, and is going gaga about it. Okay. Let’s ask him!

“3D? Well, it means Deepalaya, Disney and Diwali”, says he, without a single streak of doubt. “It might sound a little different. But interestingly, it still signifies volume – the volume of happiness which has come in small, yet many packets.”

Kids from Ramditti JRN Deepalaya School, Sheikh Sarai witnessed a block buster evening as they celebrated ‘Diwali with Disney’, organized for them by a team of 18 from TV Today Network. The celebrations came as a total surprise to the Ramditti children who, completely unaware of what they were in for, were invited to the school at five in the evening, only to find bhaiyas and didis waiting to greet them with fun, food and frolic. The channel crew had turned up in the afternoon and spent a couple of hours doing the school, before the children came in rolling to excitement.

The entire school building was lit up with candles, and decorated from head to toe. As the children, around 200 of them, walked in, they were pleasantly surprised to see their own school flaunting its new attire. The celebrations included a lot of music and dance programmes. The highlight of the day was the Disney Show, which enjoyed an amazing reception from the kids who shouted, screamed and yelled in excitement to have their favorite cartoon stars, live in front of them.

Not just that, as the two-hour programme ended at seven in the evening, the organizers presented each child a gift hamper. What more could delight the children than getting their favorite Disney character bed sheet and masks to add to the many eat-goodies like chocolates, biscuits and wafers, and work-goodies like pencils and books. A positive energy radiated in the air, as the children of Deepalaya, the home of light, celebrated Deepawali, the festival of light. The happiness manifested it not just through the children, but also the staff of Ramditti School and the team from TV Today.

Deepalaya, Diwali and Disney were a hit! Everyone on board at the school went back smiling. The volume of happiness was clearly visible on their faces. Three-D celebrations indeed!
