Sixteen-year-old Sanya’s story has touched the hearts of all who read it. A near-death accident rendered her immobile. There were a number of medical complications. The young girl had the courage to bear them all.
Deepalaya had been constantly reviewing improvements in Sanya’s health. After an ordeal lasting over four months Sanya is able to sit for a few minutes now. This gritty girl who was lying down on one side for till now has started sitting up and taking tentative steps to walk forward. Her mother is ecstatic that her little girl at last has come out of a desperate situation.
After a traumatic 3-month stay since April in a private hospital in Kanpur she came back home last month. Sanya had undergone three grafting operations in the past three months. For the fourth and the most major operation, doctors advised her to wait until she could sit and walk. Sanya responded by making immense efforts to sit and walk. Satisfied with her recovery the doctors have now decided to operate on her in August end. This surgery in the rectum area will have her excretory system functioning properly.
But having seen the way Sanya has rallied back from a near hopeless situation, we are confident the family will brave it through the current situation as well.
In an exclusive telephone call to Sanya on 16th August from one of our staff members, she was extremely cheerful to speak a small sentence.
For Sanya the best wishes and prayers are flowing from across the world. Deepalaya is highly gratified to have contributed to Sanya’s life.
