Deepalaya - Enabling Self-Reliance

We welcome Brigadier Rajiv Enoch Williams YSM (Retd), who has taken over as the new Executive Director of Deepalaya. Brigadier Williams has diverse educational qualifications. He holds a Masters in Defence Studies and has done courses on Management (HR), Public Relations, Communication Skills, in addition to a Senior Management course. He has been an instructor at various levels in his career in the army. For his services in supporting the military operations on the borders, the President of India has honoured him with the Yudh Sewa Medal (YSM). After retiring from the army he worked for 2 years as the Assistant Regional Director for an International NGO, which works in the area of disability, especially the visually impaired. He has facilitated some organizations in raising funds and has been a part of a team working in the area of child protection and has been having a close interaction with the National Institute of Social Defence. Brig Williams’ strengths lie in project management, brand building, partnership building, communication and networking. His hobbies include playing golf, squash, strumming guitar and music, reading, writing articles and script writing. Deepalaya looks forward to continued cooperation from other NGOs, well wishers and the government departments and others as it carries on with its work under the new Executive Director.
