Young Artists of Deepalaya Win Laurels

Oct 3rd, 2006 Tags: none

Young minds need just an opportunity to come out with artistic outpourings! Deepalaya’s students proved this when they took part in the Drawing and Painting competition organized by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) on 23rd September at HSMI Hostel Lawns.
It was a thrill to watch them, as their creative juices flowed and impressive paintings emerged, depicting their interpretations on the themes of Water Conservation, Delhi in 2010, Save Electricity, My Dream City, Transport System of Delhi, Electricity – A Ray of Hope and Delhi-A safe city.
Their efforts paid off as the judges announced that Ravi Pahuja (Class XII) and Smita Prasad (Class VIII) of Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension won the First and the Third prizes respectively. Also Savita of Class VIII, Ramditti J R Narang Deepalaya School got the third prize. Our students won these laurels competing against 130 others.
Ravi, Smita and Savita received certificates and cash money of Rs.2000, Rs.1000 & Rs.500 respectively from Kumari Selja, Hon’ble Minsiter of State for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Govt. of India at Vigyan Bhawan on 3rd October, 2006.
Another student who shone brightly was Renuka of Class VIII, Deepalaya School Kalkaji. She won the runners up prize in the SEED (Schlumberger) Annual Painting Competition 2005-2006. The theme of the painting competition was ‘Deeply Rooted’. She received a certificate and a gift voucher of Rs.2000/-from Crossword
