It was really heartening to see the children of Deepalaya Schools, Kalkaji Extension and Sanjay Colony, prove that they are at par with or even better than public schools when it comes to awareness about Teacher’s Day. The day in both the schools started with sharing of knowledge as to why September 5th is being celebrated as Teacher’s Day.

While a few selected students showed all the love and respect for their Teachers by taking on the mantle of their favourite teachers throughout the day, a few were busy showering their love with bouquet of flowers and beautiful hand made cards. There was vibrancy in the air and the decorum was maintained throughout the day that one really felt proud to be associated with these children. The children grabbed this opportunity to showcase their hidden talents be it teaching, singing, and dancing. Some of the students made their teachers proud by exhibiting leadership qualities that would have gone unnoticed. The culmination of the Day was fantastic cultural program organized by the students of Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension. The program comprised of jokes, dances and wonderful solo songs and group songs and the Deepalaya Band, though in its infancy gave a magnificent performance. The students came up with the novel idea of cutting the cake and serving refreshments to the teachers – all from students’ contributions. The Teacher’s Day was a great success indeed!
