In the month of March 48 students of Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony went on a tour to Agra. They were accompanied by teachers and guardians.
Amidst lot of excitement the journey started from Delhi at 6 A.M. During the tour the group visited Tajmahal, Agra Fort and Akbar Tomb.
Apart from entertainment the other purpose of the visit was to give a practical experience of the monuments that students are studying in their History paper. Students of class VIII found the trip very useful, as they could correlate the monuments with their history lessons on Mughal period.
Teachers were surprised to see the intellectual curiosity of the children. Especially Munish and Shakil of class VIII surprised everybody by their knowledge on Mughal period. Most of the children showed a genuine interest to learn the great historical legends of these monuments.
The tourist guide helped a lot to clear their doubts. After discussion with the children, it was found they have a lot of interest in history and regularly watch historical programmes at Discovery channel. They also actively discussed about the trip with their friends in the classroom.
At Deepalaya we provide the best educational facility to our children. In future also such educational tours will be continued, as theseare extremely helpful in enhancing the knowledge of students.
