Out of sight is not always out of mind. That was the realization that struck many who had left Deepalaya for better prospects. The occasion was the ‘Celebration of Workers’ on Labour Day on 1st May. This was the fourth in the series of the Silver Jubilee celebrations. 20 ex employees (another 9 could not join in) were felicitated for their valuable contribution to the organisation. Apart from them, the volunteers, social entrepreneurs and veterans were also acknowledged.
The venue, was the USI Auditorium near Subroto Park. The occasion was marked by the release of the publication "Karm Nishth-The Charismatic Crusaders". The Crusaders all acknowledged the valuable contribution Deepalaya had made in their professional growth. The Symposium that followed focussed on the ‘Worker in Different Perspectives’-the political, social, business and trade union. The speakers included Prof.Anand Kumar (JNU), Dr.D.K.Giri ( Director Schumacher Centre Delhi), Mr.V.Suresh (Retd.CMD HUDCO), Dr.Sailaja Sharma(Manager Ext/Public Affairs Shell India), Dr.Sailaja Sharma(Manager Ext/Public Affairs Shell India) and Ms.Neetu Lamba (Prog Officer ILO).
