ARE YOU GAME……… once again to represent and participate with Deepalaya in the VDHM 2007?
Deepalaya with a commitment towards its society to work for the upliftment of the underprivileged is ready again to participate in the Vodafone Delhi Half Marathon (VDHM) 2007.
This time for the cause of “HIV & Children”. The mega fundraising event scheduled to be held on 28th Oct 2007 is Sponsored primarily by Vodafone and promoted by PROCAM INTERNATIONAL, event aims at raising huge amounts of funds in donations which ultimately facilitates the upliftment of destitute and downtrodden in the country.
Deepalaya participated in this event in the year 2005 for the cause of “Girl Child” raising funds a little over 11 lacs through generous donations from many friends and well-wishers. The fund raised was utilized for admitting more girl children to the Deepalaya schools thereby reaching an enrollment rate of 52% of girls across all its project locations.
Respectively team Deepalaya participated Phir Se in the VDHM 2006 for the cause of “Differently Abled” children. Deepalaya was able to raise funds to the tune of over 6.5 lakhs. Deepalaya provided services and care to 269 differently abled through Special Education, Counseling, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Referral Services and Aids & Appliances.
This year with the motto of “HIV & Children”, Deepalaya is game…. and again participating in the Marathon and anticipate generous donations from its friends, well wishers and all those who are inclined to contribute towards this social & noble cause.
With a great track record of mainstreaming around 50,000 in past 28 years since its inception, Deepalaya has made commendable progress in eradicating the malaise of HIV and its social implications amongst its children. So with VDHM 2007, conjectured to mobilize more than Rs. 2 crores in charity & involving around 4000 pledgers, Deepalaya intends to garner possible generous support and assistance of all its friends and likeminded individuals to further its cause of “Enabling Self- Reliance” among its children.
